Titles:
Titles began as the actual names of specific web pages. You will find the title of a page at the top of the page in the bar above the website (in blue if you are using an msn browser).
We can use these titles to attract the attention of search engines by randomly posting a different title each time the page is refreshed, or with each new hit on the page.
The titles you choose should be relevant to your business and to the content on the web page.
Examples of titles would be "Fine Dining on Vancouver Island," or "Nanaimo’s Best Restaurant."
Descriptions:
Descriptions are full sentence descriptions of what your business is about. Descriptions are listed in the actual search engine findings, under your domain.
Descriptions should be engaging and directly relate to your business and what you do.
An example of a description is:
"Join us in our 20th year as we kayak the pristine waters of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Sea kayak the Broken Islands, Robson Bight with Orcas, Johnstone Strait, Clayoquot Sound and our lodge based tours. Gourmet cuisine, certified guides and a great time."
Another description would read as follows:
"Premier selection of Vancouver Island kayaking tours in British Columbia including The Broken Islands, Gulf Islands, Johnstone Strait and Robson Bight, Clayoquot Sound and Nootka Sound.Sea kayaking with killer whales, orcas, orca trips & tours on Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada"
Keywords:
We ask that you supply 60 keywords that relate to your website.
Search Engines find and remember keywords in order to recall your website when someone types something into the search bar. Keywords are a great way to direct your site to your target market.
Hint: the keywords the general public types in may not be the same as keywords an industry specialist would type in. An example of this would be a customer may search for "interview" while a specialist may use a slang term such as "sound byte"
Another thing to keep in mind is that not everyone spells the same, so you may wish to include common misspellings of words such as "bite" or "byte" for "bight."
